Kazakh at Haileybury Almaty
Infant, Junior and Middle School:
The Kazakh Department makes use of curricula and textbooks recommendedby the Ministry of Education and Science of the Respublic of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh Department Staff develop additional materials and teaching aids for the purpose to diversify the teaching and learning process to improve the mastering of the Kazakh language of pupils.
Upper School:
Year10 and Year 11 pupils get IGCSE Kazakh practice.
Cambridge IGCSE Kazakh as a Second Language is recognised by universities and employers as proof of knowledge and understanding of the language.
Candidates studying the syllabus are often study the language in order to promote their educational or employment prospects. They gain an understanding of a wide range of social registers and styles, and learn to communicate appropriately.
The topics selected relate to the interests and needs of the candidates in using Kazakh as a Second Language, e.g. education, the world of work, current affairs, health and welfare, travel, school affairs.
IGCSE Kazakh Syllabus and exam materials are prepared by the University of Cambridge and the teaching materials and textbooks are prepared by the Kazakh Department Staff.
