Year 3 have celebrated this term’s Roman studies with a Roman dressing up day. Teachers and children were invited to dress in togas, armour, sandals and laurel wreath crowns to take part in a day of activities related to Roman history. These included building and decorating a Roman fort, making authentic looking ancient scrolls, creating a Roman themed collage and staging a battle re-enactment. Beautiful homemade costumes were worn, including full size shields, plume helmets and goddess outfits. Such events really help to reinforce learning through play. Everyone involved had an exquisitas day of fun!
