We strive to provide excellent pastoral care at Haileybury Almaty. If children are happy and settled, they are more likely to work hard and achieve good results. Class teachers and form tutors keep a close watch on children’s progress inside and outside the classroom. We encourage parents to talk to them first if they have any concerns. In turn, class teachers and tutors will keep parents informed of achievements and discuss any issues.
Every pupil at Haileybury Almaty is assigned to one of four ‘houses’. There are many house competitions and fortnightly assemblies. The house system helps children to meet others outside their year group. It is the context for healthy competion across a range of activities. Each house is named after a famous former pupil of Haileybury.

Our reward system encourages children to work hard and make a full contribution to the community. Yellow and Blue tickets are awarded to recognise achievement and significant service.
Yellow Tickets are awarded to recognise improvement as well as achievement in academic work.
Blue Tickets are awarded to recognise service to others, particularly when that service is beyond what would routinely be expected.
The Headmaster will award book tokens to pupils who win significant numbers of Blue Tickets and Yellow Tickets.
