We strive to provide excellent pastoral care at Haileybury Almaty. If children are happy and settled, they are more likely to work hard and achieve good results. Class teachers and form tutors pay close attention on children’s progress inside and outside the classroom. We encourage parents to talk to them first if they have any concerns. In turn, class teachers and tutors will keep parents informed of achievements and discuss any issues.
The Pastoral Care of children in Key Stage 1 is equally as important as Academic Achievement as one is not achieved without the other. Within Key Stage 1 all members of staff love giving out house points! We are lucky enough to have two teaching assistants in each class ensuring care and learning support is being achieved all of the time. We celebrate, promote and address different ideas and concepts during our circle time. Our behaviour policy across the Primary School at Haileybury Almaty is to catch children being good. During a child’s time in Key Stage 1 their achievement and exemplary behaviour is celebrated continuously. Pupils of the Week are celebrated in assembly along with class rewards for behaving and working hard as well as rainbows for walking beautifully around school.
The first point of contact for the welfare of the pupils is their class teacher, as they spend the largest amount of time with that child and know them best. We encourage parents to talk to the teachers if they have any concerns about their child and the teacher will also keep the parents informed of any achievements of issues. Pupils of the Week are celebrated in assembly along with class rewards for behaving and working hard. Our PSHE curriculum provides our pupils with opportunities to develop their Personal, Social and Health Education in a supported and structured way.
