Russian is recognized throughout the world and is one of the official working languages of UNO and UNESCO, as well as of many other international organizations.
The Russian language is native for over 170 million people and more than 350 million people understand it. It is the fourth widely used language in the world and 180 million people are learning Russian as a foreign language.
Russian is traditionally a language of international communication in the CIS. It is widely used in many communication fields in Kazakhstan. Its status is defined by the seventh paragraph of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
